Jason Laird — Father, Husband, Pastor, and follower of Jesus

Jen and I are incredibly excited about our next season as a family, and as we move our family to Dallas this weekend, we wanted to take a moment to share a little about our newest chapter with you.

Transitions can be tough, but we are incredibly grateful to our leadership at HPC for helping us navigate this season as we follow God in faith and complete trust! It was very important to Jen & I to transition well & we felt in our hearts for some time that if we were going to enter our next season BLESSED that we would have to make sure we finished this season with honor, integrity and faithfulness. We can't take all the credit for how our season at Healing Place Church has finished so well because without the BLESSINGS & guidance of our Pastors it would not have been possible. My time at HPC and Jennifer's time with HP Serve have been the best years of our lives, and we couldn't be more excited and confident for the teams that are filling our roles moving forward.

It was at HPC that we have fallen in love with Jesus, His presence, His word, His Church, and His mission to love & serve those far from Him. It has been our family's greatest joy & honor to serve the student ministry on staff for more than 10 years and we still feel as though we benefitted WAY more than the students and families, but either way our hearts are full of thankfulness for the privilege and opportunity.

The staff have become our family and we will always carry each of them in our hearts and prayers! I am thankful for my youth pastors, Mike & Rachel Haman, who believed in me even when no one else did. I wasn't even saved yet, but they saw something in me and NEVER gave up on me. They taught me to hide Gods word deep in my heart, ALWAYS go the 2nd mile, and always believe the best in people.

I'm thankful for the Student Ministry Staff I've been honored to serve alongside. ALL of you have made me a better leader & pastor, I have learned so much from you, and my life is richer because of your friendship. Thank you for your patience & grace that you have shown me through the years. Our memories are great but your future is greater in Jesus name!

I don't know where to begin as I think of Dino & Delynn Rizzo! You will always be our spiritual parents & pastors because of what you have imparted into our lives. Thank You, thank you, THANK YOU for your heart to be a healing place for a hurting world! 15 years ago my world was hurting, and because of your obedience to the call of God, my life has been healed by Heaven. You will never know how much I love you and how grateful I am for you. Dino & Delynn, your vision became my reality and I am who I am because of God's work through your lives. You and the people of HPC will always be a major part of our life.

So, why Dallas? Great question!

For quite some time, Jennifer and I have felt God stirring our hearts with a DREAM that is too big to accomplish on our own and every time we think about it we get both nervous and excited! Even as we've felt God moving us closer to this dream, we knew there are still things yet to learn and areas to grow in before it's time to completely pursue that dream.

FAST FORWARD to today. Over the last few years we have had the privilege of building some great relationships with some of the pastors and team at Gateway Church in South Lake,TX and never would have guessed in a million years that we would end up being asked to join their team. We have always loved and respected Gateway Church and Pastor Robert and Debbie Morris and so after much prayer, consideration, and counsel I am excited, blessed, and honored to accept a position at Gateway. As with any transition like this, we are filled with thankfulness for the PAST, hopefulness for the FUTURE, and incredible excitement about the PRESENT! We believe that God has opened this opportunity at Gateway Church to continue to prepare us for all that God has prepared for us!

So what will we be doing at Gateway?

We have determined to pour our heart into serving and being a blessing in whatever way we can! We have adopted the ministry philosophy from the place that distributes the gospel bird (Chick-Fil-A) which is "WHATEVER YOU NEED!" We want to have a "whatever you need" spirit as we step toward Gateway. Our greatest desire is to be a blessing to the church and staff as we plant our hearts in His House!

To our incredible family at Healing Place Church, you are always in our hearts! After nearly 15 years of ministry at HPC, Jennifer and I can truly say we wouldn't be the people that we are without each and every one of you in our lives! We will ALWAYS cherish the years God gave us with you!

As we step out in faith into this new chapter, we know that God is going to do IMMEASURABLY more than we can dare to ask or imagine. We don't know the timeline for the dream that's in our heart, but we're excited about what God has in front of us, and we truly believe that the best is still ahead!
